How to book an appointmentRoutine appointmentsAppointments are 10 minutes and for one person only. Pre-bookable appointments will be available for those patients who must have an appointment for a specific appointment time, due to work commitments, etc. If you are unable to keep your appointment please inform surgery as soon as possible. If no appointment is available with your usual Doctor on the day you request, you will be offered an appointment with another Doctor. We have introduced a service whereby if you contact us between 8.30am on the day you wish to be seen, we will aim to offer you a set appointment that day, as long as available appointments remain. Registered patients aged 16-74 who have not been seen for three years may request a consultation. Registered patients aged 75years who have not been seen in the previous 12 months may request a consultation. If you are unable to attend the surgery for this consultation because of a medical condition, a home visit may be arranged. Urgent appointments If you have a problem which you feel needs dealing with on the same day then please tell the receptionists - they will try and find a suitable appointment for you. They may sometimes ask you to explain briefly what the problem is - this is not because they are being nosy, it is so that they can find the most suitable appointment with the most suitable person! You do not have to tell the receptionist what the problem is if you would rather not. We try our best to provide urgent appointments but it can be very difficult sometimes. We are grateful to patients for not abusing urgent appointments. Telephone appointments If you would like to speak to the doctor or nurse by phone then please ask the receptionist for a telephone consultation appointment. Home visits If you think you will need a home visit then please let the surgery know if possible before 10am. The doctor or nurse may phone you beforehand to find out more about the problem. The decision to visit is at the discretion of the doctor. |
